Dear friends and family,
In the last 2 weeks, condition here remained the same – no protest, only excessive inflation and people leaving. Christina urged our people to face change with the right attitude. Manjohn exhorted believers to be faithful till death (Revelation 2:10). At the farewell gathering, our people had a glimpse of the faithfulness of God. He called Manjohn to the ministry 41 years ago and had been supporting him all the way (Deuteronomy 1:31)! We shared with them our objective – at our final departure, we want to be able to say: “We have fought the good fight. We have finished the race. We have kept the faith. There is reserved for us in the future the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give us on that day, and not only to us, but to all those who have loved His appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8) Please pray that the believers here would know God, trust and obey him, in adversity as well as prosperity.
In-depth mentoring of Danny continued to take place. Thank you for praying! The board began to understand our youth ministry, and started to see the importance of spending time on supporting Danny, our youth worker. Pray that our board members would keep on doing this. Pray that God will use Danny to build up the young generation.
After some of our young people spoke candidly, we began to appreciate the magnitude of the growth which had taken place in them. They were allowed to serve in Spanish in important ways (including teaching, leading Bible study, planning & directing fellowship meetings, visiting orphans, serving breakfast & witnessing in poor neighborhoods, as well as teaching & leading at vacation Bible school). They also took part in discussions on relevant topics. Some benefited from counseling. Praise the Lord!
On Sept 30, some of our people and believers of a sister church will visit seekers who live near that church. Our teams will invite them to an evangelistic service at that church on Oct 1. Breakfast will be serve. Please pray God will use our teams to express his love and spread his gospel.
This weekend, we shall return to Toronto. Please pray for a smooth trip home. Pray for our home assignment, when we shall share at churches in Canada. Thank you very much for praying!
The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you!
Manjohn and Christina
