Dear friends and family,
33 believers came to the gathering for those who were called to the ministry. It was obvious that some took their calling seriously. A couple with 2 young kids did their best to come. A woman came by train from Montreal just to take part in this meeting! When she urgently needed a ride to a train station after the meeting, another sister (who had not known her before the meeting), offered to drive her all the way to Union Station! Being among such zealous believers was refreshing for Manjohn. The core group worked hard for this gathering. Manjohn liked their simple lunch (more than a fancy meal). And they were not perfectionistic. People like them are suitable for missionary service. Praise the Lord!
Manjohn shared how God called him to the ministry. The listeners were touched by the power and faithfulness of God. Thank you for praying! After that, we had a new mentee. “Loyal” wanted to be a missionary and had been receiving theological training. In-depth and comprehensive mentoring took place. Please pray that God will use us to prepare her for ministry.
Significant mentoring took place, when Li and Manjohn travelled together. Thank you for praying! After Li graduates from the seminary in April, he and his wife will meet with us. Please pray God will use us to help them prepare for missionary service. We are going to visit Ma (the church-planter) and his wife in April. Please pray that God will use us to encourage them and build them up.
Manjohn also “happened to run into” two groups of church-planters who asked him for help. Please pray that God will direct him.
Since the last update, Manjohn spoke 5 times. We thank God for the impact made for his kingdom. Thank you for praying! Manjohn has no doubt that God wants to use him to preach and mentor younger workers after his retirement on March 31. As long as he has health and strength, he will serve the Lord.
In March, we shall speak 12 times at 6 churches. Please pray God will use us to speak to his people. Pray for health, stamina, and safety on the road.
In the last 3 weeks, we had a joyful time. We were healthy again! We had the strength to travel and serve. We were well provided for. We were satisfied with the results of our ministry. Our loved ones were blessed too! Psalm 30:5b came to our mind – “Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” The Lord is good!
Though the condition in Valencia is bad, the believers serve the Lord faithfully. Please pray that the believers in Valencia would know God, and trust and obey him in adversity.
We deeply appreciate your partnership. May our LORD bless you richly!
Manjohn and Christina
