Dear friends and family,
In the last 3 weeks, many demonstrations toke place in this country. Some were killed. Many sick people suffered and died because medicines they needed were not available. Children did not go to school for 3 weeks because teachers took part in demonstrations. No one knows when they would go to school again. Our congregation prayed again and again for this country.
Our church will partner with another church in this city to reach out to needy people. On May 20, 10 teams will visit people, bringing breakfast along. Team members are ready to minister to spiritual needs too. Our congregation heard two messages on helping the needy (Galatians 6:9-10). Please pray that needy people will experience God’s love for them and enjoy the salvation God offers.
God heard your prayers for our trip to the capital. April 24 was the only day our supervisors were available to meet with us, but a major demonstration was called for that day! Since the authority closes highways to make it hard for demonstrators reach their destinations, we could not travel on April 24. When we were about to give up, our supervisors informed us they could meet with us on April 23 instead because an unexpected logistical problem compelled them to adjust their plan. As a result, we went there and came back on the only day of the week people do not demonstrate. We were not required to stop at any check-point! When we went on a similar trip in January, we stopped at 22 check-points! We travelled so fast that we reached our church an hour before her service started. Our supervisors and we had ample time together praying and seeking direction from the Lord. We felt God’s presence, and had consensus. Thank you very much!
We spent some time mentoring Danny. He is developing well as a servant of the Lord. Church leaders and parents started to appreciate and trust him. Please pray that God will continue to build him up. Victoria made a few mistakes. She needs to find out what went wrong, and change by God’s grace. That is not easy. Please pray for her. Is she learns from this, she will become a more effective servant of the Lord.
A couple of new believers decided to return to China. The wife and two kids have left. The man (Sun) will leave after he sells his business and stuff. In spite of disturbing uncertainty, he believes God will provide them with a way. God is definitely at work in his life. Please pray that they will continue to believe and integrate well into the church in China.
Please pray God would protect us from the evil ones. As the situation of more and more people gets desperate, break-in, robbery and kidnapping are more likely. Please pray God would protect our church from the evil ones too.
Grace and peace be with you!
