Dear friends and family,
The political crisis here continues to deteriorate. 2 of our people seemed to be disillusioned with politics here. They thought like this: “What is the use of trying? However hard I try, my situation gets worse!”
Both of us had some miserable experiences (insect bites, illnesses & nightmare), but the LORD enabled us to “not lose heart” (2 Corinthians 4:1 & 16). We resolved to do our best to live for the Lord and serve him. Please pray for us.
Danny is developing steadily as a servant of God. At a time he did not expect, God provided him with a new pair of shoes. We thank God for letting him experience God’s faithfulness. Pray that God will use him to comfort needy people and exhort them to rely on our faithful God. (2 Corinthians 1:4)
On June 17, 4 adults and 8 young people from our church, along with 8 young people from a sister church (who joined our training session on June 3) joined believers from another sister church to bring breakfast and gospel to Spanish-speaking people living at a needy neighborhood. The teams distributed breakfast for 400 people. The recipients especially appreciated a hot meal because they could not cook that day (no natural gas)! Many people invited our teams into their house. Each team visited 4 to 5 families and shared the gospel. Many believed. We thank God for these new believers. We also thank God for giving our team members such an excellent chance to serve the needy, both physically and spiritually. The weather was ideal (no rain, not hot). So was traffic (no demonstration, no road closed, no police check-point). Not one of us was in danger of being robbed or kidnapped! Our people experienced first-hand God’s power to protect his servants! For missionaries longing to see a new generation of workers who are willing to take risk for the Lord and the gospel, this is like a dream coming true! (Psalm 126:1-3) Praise the Lord! Thank you very much for praying!
Please pray God would protect us, the believers here and our church from the evil ones. In September, we shall go back to Canada for 6 months of home assignment. Then, we shall retire (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). Pray that the believers here will trust in the Great Shepherd as the church prepares for our retirement. Pray that God will use us to speak for him at home assignment. Pray for our search for suitable accommodation in or near Toronto. Thank you!
May God bless you richly!
