Dear friends and family,
Many sick people here cannot have the medication their doctors prescribe because many drugs are out of stock. Many are leaving. Instead of working together to solve the crisis, politicians are quarreling. While it is hard to find one cheerful adult these days, a believer at our church is all smiles! A year ago, no one would believe this. Everyone expected her to be depressed because of the tragedy she went through. Then, God saved her. The past no longer haunts her. At her baptism, many were moved by her testimony. Last month, against all odds, God enabled her to overcome one obstacle after another! No wonder, everyone could see her joy.
On Thursday and Friday, we are going to remember the Lord at 2 special services. On Thursday, we shall focus on washing the feet of one another, loving one another, and perfect unity (John 13 & 17). On Friday, we shall meditate on the cross. Please pray that awareness of Christ’s deep love for us and his strong desire for mutual love and perfect unity among his people would compel us to love him dearly and earnestly desire what he desires. More than 40 believers from several Chinese churches from another 2 cities will join us. Coming by bus takes 3 hours one way. They need to stay at a hotel for 2 nights. They still want to come. Pray that God will bless them. Please pray God will help us prepare for the meetings & help our leaders see God’s desire for unity & cooperation.
Please pray for our Easter service and baptism of a teenager.
The plan to partner with another Alliance church to start “a soup kitchen” for the poor is gaining momentum. Please pray. This is not a long-term solution to the crisis here, but helping a little is better than not helping at all!
