Dear friends, families and prayer partners,
Warm greetings in Christ from Martinique!
By God’s grace, we have once again been called by The Lord to serve overseas for another two year term. Our new mission field is in the French overseas islands (Martinique, Guadeloupe and St. Martin) in the Caribbean Sun Region.
We are grateful to be re-deployed by C&MA of Canada as partially funded International workers (IW) and are supported by CCACA and NTCAC.
Praise the Lord! We arrived safely in Fort de France of Martinique on Tuesday, Feb 7th. Everything went smoothly.
Our New Life Style…..
We are thankful that we are warmly welcomed and received by brothers and sisters here. They treat us like their families’ members which makes us feel right at home. We are currently staying at one of the church deacons’ home until the registration paper work is ready for our rental place.
The weather here is around 22C to 28C. We are lucky to be escaping the cold weather in Toronto! The people of the Caribbean are very friendly and passionate. Most of the time when we cross the roads, people would stop their vehicles and let us walking through regardless of the traffic light. This has brought us sweet memories from Canada almost 30 years ago! We are loving this island and the people in this part of the world already!!
It’s so delighted seeing the birds flying freely in such beautiful blue skies — It reminds us our Heavenly Father’s love and faithfulness. “Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” ( Matthew 6:26 )
Our Ministry:
We started our ministry right away — the next day right after our arrival, we were sharing at the weekly prayer meeting and Bible study group. Moreover, Edmond has been preaching these past 2 Sundays and Anne shared at Sunday school sessions as well. We are truly grateful to The Lord for the opportunities to serve! Currently, we are busy preparing and connecting STM teams coming from various areas.
Since we do not currently have sufficient funding from our car fund raising, we are depending on brothers and sisters to drive us to visitations. We have visited more than 20 families thus far; including a few “cold calls” and those who have not come to church for a while. As we understand paying visits and showing loving care to b/s is very important, especially during the beginning stage of the ministry. We pray that our work is not in vain and can bring glory to The Lord.
We are thankful to all of you for your faithfulness, kindness and generosity in our mission journey together for the Lord’s glory!
