I am grateful for your prayer & support to the ministry of Mandarin Chinese Professionals in Mexico City. Now Mexico, Canada & the world is facing a huge storm – COVID-19 pandemic. I like to shift the focus from ministry need to present challenge.
Our normal life is interrupted by COVID-19 abruptly. We are adapting to “new normal” (stay home, social distancing, hand washing) and:
(1) Lost job
(2) Work at home
(3) Unexpected long school break
(4) Cannot visit elderly family members/friends who live in senior homes
(5) Online bible study/gathering/service
(6) Use social media to communicate…
My friend said, “I am afraid to go out with my kids because I am not sure whether we will get sick.” A Christian friend asked, “Anne, Mexico has over 400 COVID-19 cases, when will you go back to Toronto?” Coronavirus may give us the feelings of fear, anxiety, frustration, helpless, hopeless & depressed…
BUT Psalm 46:1-2 is telling us: “GOD is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.” It’s time for us to CALL His name. I am thankful I could join my colleagues to pray for you, churches and the world recently.

I received couple checking emails for my wellbeing. Appreciated
your love and concern. I am fine. My new normal life is
self-isolation, social distancing & hand washing.
COVID-19
pandemic changes the ministry & the community dramatically:

All gatherings & activities are suspended.

Sunday gathering changes to online.
[3]
Some men are working at home.
[4]
School closed. Children have online class.
[5]
Social media is the way for communication…
The situation is not good BUT God is continuing to work in people’s life. C. went back to her homeland with family last July. She is eager to study the Bible in order to know Jesus Christ more. She likes to invite friends to join her too. Amazing!
Prayer Items:
[1] The positive side of the pandemic is some men are working at
home. They have time to connect their family. Pray for relational improvement between men & their families.
[2] It is challenge for ladies and their parents to take care of kids/grandchildren who stay home 24/7. Pray for their wellbeing, patience & wisdom.
[3] C. is looking for a church. Pray for God provide a spiritual family for her.
[4] Pray for health & wisdom of Chins & I to serve during these unsettle times.
[5] I will go back to Toronto on July 4-25 for medical travel to follow up the surgery for the thyroid on Feb last year. I like to meet you and/or group setting to share Mandarin ministry in Mexico City when I am in Toronto.
