Sheep for Sale
This weekend is Tabaski. It is one of the most celebrated holidays here in Niger and commemorates Abrahamʼs willingness to sacrifice his son (Ishmael – according to our friendsʼ understanding). In remembrance, many will sacrifice one or more healthy sheep-rams and divide up the meat to share with family, neighbours and the poor.
Seeing so many sheep on the streets reminds us how tiny the Christian population is here. And how we need to pray for God’s freedom for this country and many others. We invite you to join believers around the world in praying for the salvation of our Muslim neighbours. That eyes would be opened and hearts would be led to see the True Sacrifice.
Bless you for your prayers.
