(From the Deeper Life to the Overflowing Life),信徒的生命必须不断成长进深(deeper life),才能明白及有能力实践大使命(mission)。

Workshop I: August 5 (2:30pm – 3:30pm)

IWs and their Families on Mission
Speaker: D Lee; Ace & Cecilia Cheung
Code: E511
As more career-aged International Workers enter the mission field, there is the consideration of what to do with their young families. How will they adjust? How can we be responsible Christian parents? These are some of the pressing issues that will be addressed in this workshop as you learn not only what is involved as a missionary family but also how to pray for them.

Compassion Work Around the Globe
Speaker: Joanne Beach
Code: E512
God has called us to be “Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Ways to Walk Upon”. The work of compassion is crafted for us not simply by a world responding to crisis but by our loving God ho calls us to help the needy. Come find out about the global compassion work and the impact we can make in the lives of children and families.

How to Discern Your Calling in Missions
Speaker: Brem Frentz, Mike Linnen & others
Code: E513
Have you been called to missions? Or are you trying to figure it out? The matter of calling is central to the longevity of anyone serving as an International Worker, and it is this important starting point that our workshop will address. Understand what a calling is. Discern your own calling. Come and learn!

Workshop II: August 5 (4:00pm – 5:00pm)

Touch, Taste, Feel of Missions
Speaker: Victor & Betty Chin; Suresh & Cheryl Guneratnam
Code: E521
The world that International Workers are called to often harbours experiential surprises in what we see, the thing we interact with, the food we eat, and the smells we encounter. This workshop takes you through a candid look at the experiences of an International Worker, and calls us to experience the reality of missions for ourselves.

The Exciting World of Church Planting in Canada
Speaker: Dave Enns & church planters
Code: E522
What’s the best way of maximizing the impact of the gospel in a geographical area or to facilitate the development of missional ideas in order to mature them into dynamic churches? It’s a model which we’ve called “New Ventures”, and it’s catching like wild fire, creating communities of witness for Christ across Canada. Come hear how to be a part of this exciting movement from the architects and the movers of this new wave of God’s witness in Canada.

How to Minister to Muslim Refugees
Speaker: Melad Markos
Code: E523
The face of Canada is changing as refugees from the Muslim world arrive at our doorsteps. This great diaspora precipitated by conflict may be the world’s tragedy, but it is also the church’s great opportunity to reach those who hitherto have been the hardest to reach because they are in our midst. How do we rise to this challenge? How do we effectively minister to Muslim refugees who have now become our neighbours? This workshop will address these questions and more.

(NEW)Frontier/Cross-Cultural Missions: Challenges & Opportunities
Speaker: Jack & Anne Lau
Code: E524
“Frontier and Cross-Cultural Missions“ is a term that is worth exploring as we see two major movements that God is calling His church to do – to share the gospel with the least reached peoples of the world and to respond to the diaspora (the scattering of peoples throughout the world). You will hear the What, Why, Who, Where and How (to participate) of God’s call, the amazing testimonies of International Workers, and how the Kairos Course (a mission & discipleship course) has impacted churches and Christians.

Workshop III: August 6 (2:30pm – 3:30pm)

The Value of Kairos
Speaker: Jack & Anne Lau
Code: E531
What is God doing in the world? The amazing fact is that the breathtaking blessing that God is pouring out to the least reached is being done through the church. Kairos is designed to enable the church to this great task – to mobilize the believer on the chair to become the bringer of blessing to the world. Come and discover the value of Kairos for yourself individually, and for your church corporately.

How to Discern Your Calling in Missions
Speaker: Brem Frentz, Mike Linnen & others
Code: E532
Have you been called to missions?  Or are you trying to figure it out?  The matter of calling is central to the longevity of anyone serving as an International Worker, and it is this important starting point that our workshop will address. Understand what a calling is.  Discern your own calling.  Come and learn!

Missions in a World of Terrorism
Speaker: D Lee; Ace & Cecilia Cheung
Code: E533
Extremist Islamic terrorism has dominated the world’s stage with their acts of war. Yet, what is seldom understood by the general populace is the impact of terrorism on evangelism and world missions. Perhaps it’s time to set down the lens of this world and pick up the lens of God to see what He is doing in a world rocked by terror.

Workshop IV: August 6 (4:00pm – 5:00pm)

How to Minister to Muslim Refugees
Speaker: Melad Markos
Code: E541
The face of Canada is changing as refugees from the Muslim world arrive at our doorsteps. This great diaspora precipitated by conflict may be the world’s tragedy, but it is also the church’s great opportunity to reach those who hitherto have been the hardest to reach because they are in our midst. How Envision Can Fire Up Your Church
Speaker: Ryan Graham & Joze Reverente
Code: E542
As a family churches, the C&MA has promoted missions as our middle name, sending men and women in the great task of working among the least reached of the world. Now, we have added to the recruitment of long term International Workers the exciting world of Short Term Missions working alongside our International Workers already in the field. This is the ministry of Envision, and it will fire up your church to be engaged in missions in a new and meaningful way.
